It's time to make the other character for our game, Captain Steve Steev. Since he is close to 50% the same as Jacob, I'm only going to ZBrush pieces that are new. I made a straw hat, a mustache, a floppy boot, and some shorts for him. I used the same mannequin and the same shirt as before. With this much of the mesh the same, I only have to re-UV a small portion of the new mesh. It should save me considerable time, but still look different enough to be believable as a new character. Kit-bashing for the win.
So here is a collection of the ZBrushed new pieces put with the re-used old pieces. I'm not too happy with the hat. It seems way too simple, but I think it'll be easiest to make the normal map for the hat via texture work - make my own height map to Crazybump into a normal map. I also think the boot is kind of weak, but I needed it done.
